Fan Coil Unit (Boiler Coil Unit)

The fan coil unit provides local heating and/or cooling. It can be located in the local space or in the ceiling plenum. It can be connected to duct work or installed “duct-free.” Fan coil is a generic term used for a wide variety of small, simple heating and cooling devices.

Heating Coil/Element: The heating coil transfers heat from the heating medium to the air.

Cooling Coil: The cooling coil transfers heat from the air to the cooling medium.

Fan: The fan pushes air through the cooling and/or heating coils and into the space.

Motor: The motor rotates the fan via the belt drive or direct drive.
