Heat Exchanger (Steam to Hot Water)

Heat Exchanger (Steam to Hot Water)

The heat exchanger transfers (exchanges) heat from steam into hot water. Various types of shell and tube heat exchanges are similar. Shell and tube heat exchangers are used in a wide variety of applications in built-up air systems.

Inlet and Outlet: The inlet and outlet provides connections to the hot water system.

Shell: The shell provides housing for the tubes and external fluid to the tubes.

Tubes: The tubes separate to provide a heat transfer surface between two working fluids.

Trap: The trap prevents steam from exiting the exchanger and allows condensate to exit the exchanger.

Gauges: Gauges display the operating pressure of each fluid entering the heat exchanger.

Hand Valve: The hand valve provides manual shutoff for maintenance and safety.
