When a large telecommunications company put out an RFP for HVAC services for the company’s mission-critical data centers, they were initially unable to find an ideal partner. The Customer’s Challenge
Previously, our customer had used a facility management company for HVAC and other day-to-day operations. This third-party company did not have the coverage needed to self-perform maintenance work and was instead subcontracting out providers. This resulted in a lack of continuity across our customer’s numerous data center sites. They needed a skilled, reliable partner that would handle their HVAC services, so they issued the RFP.
The initial responses from some of the country’s leading HVAC companies fell short of the comprehensive approach our customer desired. These other contenders were overpriced, lacked coverage and were unwilling to adapt to the customer’s processes.
Service Logic — the largest privately held HVAC/mechanical company in the United States — was awarded the contract after detailing our expertise in HVAC and mechanical services and our commitment to working closely with the customer to meet their unique needs.

The Results
Service Logic now provides HVAC management at more than 100 sites for this customer while also working with them to solve additional coverage needs. This includes recently expanding our relationship to manage HVAC servicing for the customer’s call centers.
In addition, Service Logic has helped this customer with HVAC equipment reconciliation to ensure all equipment is accounted for and included in our preventative maintenance programs, along with performing energy audits to identify savings opportunities.
